Not sure if a shift occurred (maybe it was always the case and I didn't realize it) but feels like humanity as a civilization has become surer of what it can do.
AI doomers believe we are capable of making true AGI, reaching Mars feels challenging but inevitable, increase in human lifespan feels like 'when' not 'if'. Was this the case 200 years ago? Wonder whether moving up the Kardashev scale requires such a change in thinking.
